Committee Update – Margaret Edwards has stepped down from the committee after the last year and half, we thank her for her contribution. We are pleased to advise that Peter (VP) and Anne Bullen (Asst. Treasurer) have agreed to fill the vacant positions for the remainder of 2025. We look forward to their inputs and working with them.
Mixed Doubles Championship Date – we have become aware that the Ladies Lower Grades on the weekend of August 30th & 31st clashes with our originally scheduled Mixed Doubles Championship dates. We can now confirm that, as proposed at our previous meeting, our Mixed Doubles Championships will move to the 5th of October. August 31st will now become a standard club day. Fixtures have been updated and we have some hard copies available.
Rotary Grant – we are pleased to announce that we received a grant from Rotary Club Mandurah Districts for the purchase of new dart boards which will be in use at our club day. As you may recall Rotary also assisted us in 2023 with the purchase of a new storage cupboard and we thank them for their generosity and continued support of our club. If you know, or meet anyone, associated with Rotary then give them a little thank you.
Dart Board Sales – with the new boards arriving we need to make some storage space and are selling off some old boards for $10 each. We have single screw style basic brackets that can provide with any sales.
July Lunches – our Club Singles Championships are on the 6th of July and Loretta McNaught has generously offered to provide a brisket lunch, with rolls and coleslaw. The club will also provide chicken and some salads. Lunch will be $5 per person but there is no obligation, just for July, for members to bring a salad as well – if you want to provide something nice as a side (e.g. cakes) then it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to Loretta for providing the opportunity to have a bit of a change up on lunch.
Nationals Update – nomination forms for Nationals are now available and must be submitted, with payment, by the end of July. Everyone competing needs to fill out a form. Also, the first order for State shirts has now closed and there is one final order that closes on the July 31st – order forms available. Note that for any new jacket orders there has been a price increase (previous orders will be filled at original price).
Mandurah State Event Raffles – Sandra Rance is assisting with co-ordination of potential sponsors for our State event (September 20th and 21st). If you know of anybody or business that may be able to help us out, then have a chat with Sandra.
State & Club Championship Nominations – it is the silly season where nominations for championship events are closing each month. There is a tabulation of State events, shown at end of the page. Officially nominations close two weeks before each event. On the table, we have shown the last Mandurah club date prior to official close and ask you to complete, including payment, by those dates. We also have club championships on 6th July and 5th October and ask for nominations at the preceding club day.
May your darts fly true
