Welcome to another instalment of our newsletter.
We held our first members discussion at the March meeting with the following decisions taken:
- 2024 AGM and wind-up will remain as a Sunday morning / lunch event.
- The club will require all members attending end of year function to pay a $20 deposit that will be refunded on attendance. Non-playing partners and guests will, as normal, be required to pay full cost of meal up-front.
- Social memberships will not be offered in 2024, will revisit this at the AGM.
- Committee granted the right to offer exceptions when it comes to eligibility criteria for Club Championships to FIFO workers or others under exceptional circumstances.
We will schedule and advise date of another members discussion meeting for later in the year.
Also, at the last club day we were advised that the catering sub-committee would not be continuing. We would like to thank them for their contribution of time, effort, and money they made in giving this a go. We will be reverting to chickens and salads for now, and remember it is the expectation that everyone makes some effort to contribute something to the lunch. For those that have specific dietary needs or even just a preference for something different feel free to bring your own food. We will look at opportunities for a little bit of variety in the future.
Regarding upcoming events there is a table of State Events at the end of the newsletter for where, when and close-off dates for nominations. Remember, for state events it is a $10 nomination fee per player payable before closing date. Please note that our meeting in May is effectively the last opportunity for nominating for the State Singles in Bunbury (25th & 26th May).
National nomination forms are also available, they can be accessed via the Mandurah or WA State legends websites (look under documents) or see Peter. Please be aware that each competitor is now required to fill out an individual nomination form.
Finally, the May club day is our Club Championship – Doubles. We want to finalise numbers as early as possible so please sign up this weekend. We will also put a post up on Facebook and close nominations by end of next week. Remember, if you aren’t nominated by the closing date, you won’t be able to play. The Club Championship – Singles (in July) nomination forms are also available.
If you have questions on any of the above or anything else, then please see one of our committee members.
Shoot well,
Mandurah Legends Darts Committee
